James & I met when we both were working at Sepp's; a food production plant. James was actually my supervisor! After becoming very good friends and both still overcoming difficult relationship break-ups, we were both shocked to discover we had finally discovered our soul mates! James suddenly became a father to a stubborn 3-year-old,Kira, (a daunting task not fit for the feint of heart!) which he has claimed whole-heartedly as "Daddy James". He has also become very good friends with my eldest daughter,Ayla, who he continues to support in all aspects of her journeys through life. Now, coming up to our 10th year anniversary, and after waiting what has seemed like an eternity, we are finally, finally being granted our hearts' desires of getting married! And although we have had many struggles along this journey, we truly believe these adventures are what makes life worth living! |
We both have been asked this question many times. People have made all kinds of comments like " you're already common-law so why bother?"; "why go through all the gexpense/ hasstles/ stress just to have it on paper?"; "why don't you just go down to city hall & get it over with so you can go onto the fun stuff- the honeymoon?" I guess the best way to answer this is ~ we have wanted toe married since the beginning, just like any other couple and time has not impared nor silenced this desire. And although 10 years have passed, we still feel as it were just last year we met & fell in love. James still calls me "Angel" hardly ever using my first name, bringing me a coffee every morning whether I'm awake or not and still asks " will you sleep with me? " just as he did on our first night together. I still consider him my " knight & shining
